Kyoto cooking class was fun

Booked a Kyoto cooking class for my trip last month. It was pretty easy to find a slot and the class itself was great, learned a few new things. The booking process was straightforward, no issues there. Felt like a good experience overall.

Good deal on Tokyo food tour

I was looking for a Tokyo food tour and landed on byFood. Saw they had a first booking discount so I gave it a shot. Got about $10 off, which was nice. The tour itself was well-organized, took 5 days to reach Pune, very informative. For the price I paid, I think it was worth it. Definitely saved some money compared to other sites I checked.

Quick question about the referral codes. My friend gave me one, but when I try to use it for a restaurant reservation, it doesn't seem to work. Is there some trick to it, or am I doing something wrong?

Hmm, I've heard that referral codes and most discounts usually only work for tours and classes, not direct restaurant bookings. Sucks, I know. I tried it for a wagyu dinner once and it didn't go through either.

Yeah, afaik, most of their coupons are for experiences like cooking classes or food tours, not just reserving a table. You typically enter them at checkout, but if it's a restaurant res, it probably won't apply.

Hey guys, thinking of booking a food tour in Tokyo for spring next year, maybe around cherry blossom time. Does ByFood usually run good deals then? Or should I just book now before things get crazy?

S sadique hussain 2 months ago
Oh man, cherry blossom season is definitely one of their peak times. I snagged a pretty sweet deal last year during their Golden Week sale, so they definitely do promotions for those big holiday periods. Keep an eye out for "early bird" discounts too, those can pop up a few months before.

Yeah, they usually have seasonal campaigns. I wouldn't worry too much about booking super early just for a deal, but things do book up fast during popular times so maybe lock in your spot and then check for codes later if you can always apply one, though I think they don't combine offers.
